News: 4 November 2015

Boardsmill Sires are well represented at the upcoming Tattersalls November National Hunt Sale.

Keep an eye out for upcoming ads in the media, as we promote our sires ahead of the National Hunt Sales.

Kalanisi is represented by 3 yearlings (2 geldings and 1 filly) and 16 foals (10 colts and 6 fillies) whilst there are also 3 mares carrying in foal to the Grade 1 sire.

Kalanisi enjoyed a tremendous year on the track with his progeny. Grade 2 Aintree Bumper winner BARTERS HILL is an exceptional talent. He was unbeaten in four Bumpers and earned many admirers along the way for the manner of his victories. His recent hurdling debut was also very impressive and he is an exciting Novice Hurdler for the season ahead.

Buyers who are looking for fillies should take note of Kalanisi's high percentage of winning fillies and bear in mind he already has sired Stakes Fillies on the flat, over hurdles and over fences including 3 stakes fillies already from his 1st NH Crop including the Grade 1 mare KALANE.

Other recent winners include debut winning filly WHAT A LARK and 4yo Point To Point winner BALLYCASH.

Having covered 150 mares in each of his first 4 seasons at Boardsmill and with his current crop of 4 year olds being of the highest quality of those crops- Kalanisi is not going to be short of representatives on the racetrack over the coming years.

This is the year to invest in his yearlings and foals!

Court Cave is represented by 7 yearlings (4 geldings and 3 fillies) and 17 foals (16 colts and 1 filly).

Enjoying his best season ever, COURT CAVE is the youngest sire amongst the Top 10 Active Sires this season. An extraordinary feat relative to his peers, considering he has only had 110 lifetime NH runners to date and his crops of racing age range in size from only 17 foals to 58 foals.

Recent winners include the Grade 3 winner COURT MINSTREL (now rated 157) and the Gigginstown Stud owned maiden hurdle winner JUST CAUSE- on his debut over hurdles. With the unbeaten CLONDAW COURT set to return to the track and promising 4 year olds TIMINGS'EVERYTHING (J Kiely), OUT OF STYLE (E Williams) and WILLOUGHBY COURT (B Pauling) also due out shortly, we look forward to COURT CAVE's fine season continuing.

With much bigger crops aged 3 and younger to come on stream- his reputation is surely going to rise further in the next 2 or 3 years

All the more reason to be investing in Court Cave stock this coming sales season!

Califet is represented by his first crop of Irish Foals and there are 28 (17 colts and 11 fillies) to choose from. There are also 8 mares carrying in foal to the French bred sire.

A revelation since coming to Boardsmill early in 2014, Califet again covered a full book of mares in 2015. He has enjoyed his most successful season to date on the racetrack siring 2 Grade 1 winners including the unbeaten French Grade 1 winning 4yo Hurdler BLUE DRAGON and dual Gr 1 winning Novice Chaser CLARCAM.

BLUE DRAGON is an exceptional horse. He has won Grade 3's by a distance and even won the French 'Triumph Hurdle' by a hard held 6 lengths. Described by trainer Guy Cherel as 'exceptional- a machine' and by jockey David Cottin as 'something else', BLUE DRAGON will bid to continue his winning sequence at Auteuil this month.

Other exciting prospects for Califet include CALIPTO who made a winning debut over fences for Paul Nicholls recently, ADRIEN DU PONT- unbeaten in 2 starts over hurdles including on his UK debut at Chepstow recently for Nicholls, BURLINGTON BERT- winner of his only bumper for Warren Greatrex and BIVOUAC- described by Nicky Henderson as a gorgeous big chaser in the making.

CALIFET foals are sure to be in big demand and don't forget he has already sired a number of winning stakes fillies over jumps so his fillies are well worth looking at also.
