Court Cave achieved a notable Grade 2 double recently, courtesy of Grade 2 winners Champion Court and Court Minstrel.

The first leg of the double was brought up by Champion Court in his beloved Cheltenham. He recorded his 3rd career Grade 2 (all at Cheltenham) by landing the Grade 2 Silver Trophy Chase on April 17th in gutsy fashion from Menorah.

Ridden by Ian Popham for the first time, Champion Court jumped impeccably throughout and when headed at the last fence for the first time, he dug deep and stayed on up the hill to run out a deserved winner.

Three days later at Ayr, Court Minstrel impressed many when landing the Grade 2 Scottish Champion Hurdle in the hands of Adam Wedge. The six year old, bred by William Flood, was winning for the fifth time and he showed an impressive turn of foot to put the race to bed in a matter of strides after the last hurdle. He is a really exciting prospect for next year and it is a credit to Evan Williams and connections the way they have brought on this horse throughout his career to date.

Court Minstrel is the last foal out of Theatral, a winning 3yo hurdler by former Boardsmill sire Orchestra.
