One of the most talked about young National Hunt Sires at the moment has to be COURT CAVE. The regally bred son of Sadlers Wells has sired a string of promising young horses again this year with his flagship horse being without doubt CHAMPION COURT, the Grade 2 winning novice chaser who ran such a fine race in defeat at the Cheltenham Festival. Other young horses of note include another Black Type novice chaser in WHODOYOUTHINK and the promising NEAREST THE PIN and COURT IN SESSION. Dual bumper winner HOLD COURT impressed quite a few whilst another bumper winner COURT MINSTREL ran a hugely promising race to finish 4th in the Grade 2 Aintree Bumper in April.

The fairer sex are also flying his flag with recent hurdles victories for the consistent mares COURT LEXI and GLAN LADY.

Between the flags, COURT CAVE continues to make a big impression. His impressive strike rate was further boosted in recent weeks by the victories of 3 different 5yo’s in their respective maidens - LIBERTY COURT, COURT APPEAL and CLONDAW COURT. The last named went on to realise £130,000 at Brightwells having cost his connections just €8,000 last August as a 4yo.

All in all, COURT CAVE is producing good looking athletic horses that the trainers love. He has also proved his ability to upgrade his mares which is another noteworthy attribute.

Having only covered 50 mares in 2008, he hasn’t an abundance of 3yo’s on the ground. This scarcity is sure to reward those vendors with representatives at the various upcoming store sales…..

The following are his progeny catalogued:

Doncaster May 31st

Goffs Land Rover June 13th

Goffs Land Rover June 14th

Tattersalls Derby Sale June 29th
