Boardsmill Stud - 2011 Stud Fees unchanged

Boardsmill Stud has left the stud fees for Kalanisi and Court Cave unchanged for the coming covering season. Kalanisi will again cover at €5,000 Oct 1st NFNF whilst Court Cave’s stud fee remains at €1,500 Oct 1st NFNF. Both sires will cover strictly limited books of mares.

Kalanisi has covered a full book of mares each of the last 3 seasons since arriving at Boardsmill and is enjoying tremendous recent success on the racecourse and in the sales ring. His National Hunt Foals offered at Tattersalls NH Sale in November proved very popular, with colts realising up to €33,000 and fillies realising up to €29,000 including the 2nd highest priced filly foal of the sale. Also in November, his 3 year old son Birzali who was a winner and Listed placed on the level in France realised €100,000 when selling to Mags O’Toole at Arqana Horses In Training Sale.

Recent racecourse highlights include the impressive winning reappearance of Alaivan in a LISTED hurdle at Naas and the winning hurdles debut for the gutsy Act Of Kalanisi in the opening race on Hennessy Day at Newbury.
Other noteworthy recent wins were the Novice Chase wins for Sheshali (in UK) and Kalmonto (in France). Kalanisi has now sired 3 chase winners from his first 4 runners over the larger obstacles.

The regally bred Court Cave has also enjoyed a tremendous season at stud and on the racecourse. His limited number of first crop 5 year olds have made a big impression, none more so than the impressive Champion Court who recently landed a Grade 2 Novice Hurdle at the Cheltenham Open Meeting in November. Another black type performer from his 1st crop is the highly regarded Whodoyouthink who landed two hurdle races before finishing 3rd in a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Fairyhouse.

Court Cave enjoyed his busiest season to date in 2010, covering over 80 mares and his stock were very well received at the sales with his 4 stores sold at Goffs Land Rover Sale averaging over €20,000- an average bettered only by Presenting and King’s Theatre.
