Court Cave’s foals off to a flying start at recent Tattersalls NH Foal Sale’

Court Cave foal realises € 15,000 at Tattersalls National Hunt Foal Sale

Court Cave’s eagerly awaited first crop foals went under the hammer at Tattersalls this week and all 4 colts offered for sale were sold. The top priced foal was the very attractive good walking colt offered from Dessie Thornton’s Mullaghea Stud on the seventh and final day of the foal sales. There was a lot of interest in this colt on what is normally the quietest day of the week and it was Joe Quinn who came out on top when outbidding all others at €15,000. Quinn later stated that the colt was one of the best looking colts of the day and would be offered for resale as a yearling or a 3 year old.

A colt offered from Dave Harvey’s Winter Lodge Stables was bought by Tipperary vet Johnny Quinlan for €7,200. This colt is out of an un-raced half sister to Charlie Swan’s profilic winning chaser ‘Over The First’.

Two other colts were sold for €6,200 and €6,000. The average selling price of all foals sold was an impressive €8,200.
